CULTURA MOBILE

The Future of LibroMobile & Crear Studio Gallery + Digital Lab

Square Cultura Mobile.png

*This fundraiser is supported by our fiscal agent, Red Salmon Arts, based in Tejas — without them, we would not be who we are in Southern California.
** A portion of the fundraising goal is to keep our LibroMobile brick-and-mortar open through June 2027 as we transition to Cultura Mobile.

Give TODAY to keep us cruising in 2027!

Your support today helps us bring Cultura Mobile to life, carrying forward LibroMobile and Crear Studio’s mission as we transform for the future. As our brick-and-mortar faces closure, we are choosing to evolve, remain, and move with our community. In 2027, Cultura Mobile will cruise into neighborhoods, school campuses, and special events, expanding access to books, art, cultural collaborations, and digital archiving.

Your donation will help us collaborate with community-centered artists Jacqueline Valenzuela and Mark Anthony Hocutt to realize a lowrider-cart rooted in cultura, futuristic resilience, and grassroots imagination — a mobile space for stories, creativity, and community care.

About the Artists:

Jacqueline Valenzuela (b. 1997, East Los Angeles, CA) received a BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach (2019). Valenzuela has a forthcoming MFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of California, Los Angeles (2027). Valenzuela’s work has been exhibited nationally, including the South Gate Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, The Cheech—Riverside Art Museum, among others. Valenzuela’s work has been highlighted in various publications, such as LAist, Remezcla, Lowrider Magazine, Juxtapoz, and Gata Magazine. In 2024, she presented her first solo museum show, Con Safos, Con Fuerzas, at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. Upcoming solo exhibitions include Divine Rides at College of the Canyons and Orison at the Brand Library. Valenzuela is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice is centered around depicting her personal experiences as well as the storytelling of other women who, like her, are in the Chicano world of lowriding. Her art practice reflects the deep roots she has planted in the lowrider community by bridging the gap between fine art and this underrepresented culture.

Mark Anthony Hocutt (b. 1995, Whittier, CA) is a kustom automotive painter who merges his passion for car restoration with artistic creation. Primarily working in the automotive industry, Hocutt specializes in customizing car builds and crafting kustom painted plexiglass and metal panels. His education in airbrush and automotive painting was shaped through mentorships rather than formal schooling. He has exhibited nationally with Flatline Gallery, Munzon Gallery, and Motherling, and debuted his first solo exhibition, “Diamond in the Rough,” at Munzon Gallery in Fall 2024. Growing up near Whittier Blvd, Hocutt was surrounded by the vibrant culture of lowriders, hot rods, and classic cars, which deeply influenced his artistic and professional trajectory. Over the years, Hocutt honed his skills through various apprenticeships, mastering the techniques needed to recreate the iconic lowrider styles of the 60s and 70s. By the age of twenty-five, he established his own auto body shop, The Kolor Studio, which also serves as his creative workspace.
