A multimedia survey exhibition featuring 10 years of linocut artwork, paper installation, and print process by Xitlalic Guijosa-Osuna. Used as a meditative practice, Xitlalic developed her linocut prints to surpass feelings of loss and heartbreak and include multigenerational dichos and ancestral healings in the form of traditional greeting cards. Over the last decade, the public has passed on these prints in moments of celebration, sympathy and personal reflections. The exhibition includes public engagement, come ready to add a block print on the wall!

About the Artists:

Xitlalic Guijosa-Osuna is a Southeast L.A. Michoacana-Sinaloense, poeta, visual and teaching artist. She began a reiteration of Tarjetitas con Amor greeting cards in 2012 as a way to raise funds for other writers. Now 10 years later, her greeting cards are known to represent her community, Chicanx culture, Mexican dichos as well as her family. She writes and prints about Guayabas, her Madre, her grandmothers y un chingo de memorias sobre la vida.

Tarjetitas con Amor is a non-traditional greeting card business that was inspired by words used by family and community. They began as a way to fundraise to pay women of color poets. After positive feedback from the community more cards were created as customers became another spark of inspiration. Tarjetitas con Amor has been around for over 10 years and will continue to make more Tarjetitas for you and your loved ones.
