The Bringer of Culture by Jim Heavily

In Jim Heavily's first collection of poetry we veer into an aggregate of cultures, mythology, and experience. There are threads of Native American and Aztec history, and there are narratives discerned in situ at these sites. The speaker is not bringing culture to the communities he writes about per se, but the book certainly encodes the ceremonies, figures, and ceremony of a life lead in pursuit of those narratives.
