LMAC Projects:

Community-based preservation & open source narratives for-&-by our community

What are LMAC Projects?  Since the Digital Humanities is a community activity, we are taking interest in preserving our community's history and storytelling/narrative projects initiated through local collaborations.

What's a virtual timeline?

We use TimelineJS, which is an open-source tool that enables anyone to build visually rich, interactive timelines. Beginners can create a timeline using nothing more than a Google spreadsheet, like the one we used for LMAC's virtual timeline below.

What's a storymap?:

We use StoryMapJS, which is a free tool to help you tell stories on the web that highlight the locations of a series of events. It is a new tool, yet we love it to engage youth, guests to our city and even challenge the institutions to think differently about technology in and out of the classroom! For great AND FUN examples visit Mapping Santa Ana and BIPOC Bookstores below.

Send us an email, if you'd like to start a conversation and join our initiative.
