About the Event
Artists of Color of OC (facebook page) is a space for Non-White Artists of Color in Orange County who are connected through art, culture, and lived experiences.
Collaboratively, we are going to co-host quarterly AOCOC community-based mixers to introduce artists of color & their creative practices to all who attend.
Every 3 months or so, we will invite all artists of color in OC to join us for an artist's talk. Artists will be introduced and provided 15 mins to present a talk on a current project.
Introducing Roger Eyes R.:
Raised in Santa Ana Ca, multi-disciplinary artist Roger Eyes R. is influenced by Emigdio Vasquez, Sergio O´Cadiz, U B Iwerks and Tex Avery. He is a teaching artist, live painter, muralist, illustrator, designer, sculptor, and art-nerd.
He is a Lead Artist of the Santa Ana Community Artista Coalition, which visits communities in need throughout the Southland and successfully connects and engages them through mural and art workshops.
Roger has worked with a number of charities, public-charters, non-profits and organizations and is now a seasoned Art Instructor with Orange County's Children's Therapeutic Art Center(OCCTAC) working directly K-12th grade kids in the Santa Ana Unified School District(SAUSD).
We are hoping to forge a community where we show up and support each other, work and celebrate together, and hopefully feel a little less disjointed in this mostly white, mostly conservative, mostly corporate landscape.
Snacks & beverages will be provided. For more information, email libromobile@gmail.com
